Discovering TRUTH

In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with(in) God,

And the WORD was God.

John 1:1

Many believe that to study the Word is to simply READ it and believe it.  But the Bible says to “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. ~ 2 Timothy 2:15

Study is the application of the mind to the acquisition of knowledge, as by reading, investigation, or reflection;

Divide is to separate into parts, groups, sections, etc.;

Investigate is synonymous to scrutiny, exploration, examination, inquiry, research expressing the idea of an active effort to find out something;

Reflection  is a calm, lengthy, intent consideration;

2 Timothy 2:15 is an invitation to TEST the doctrine for validity and TRUTH. Dividing it however you need, to gain an understanding. Scrutinize it, Explore it, Examine it, Inquire about it, Research it and Reflect on your findings. One separates in order to examine the nature, the differences in the parts; to simplify, so as to understand the core, the heart; to understand the workings, the meaning and the function.  Continue reading “Discovering TRUTH”

These are some terms used to describe attributes of feminists and the feminist movement.  And to be honest, I had never really given it much thought. I never thought enough about it to be for it or against. Maybe it is because I’m not really big on putting myself in boxes; of tying myself to one belief, one religion or another. I tend to look for truth anywhere, in all people, movements and religions.

However, a couple of weeks ago I found myself in the midst of what felt like a “feminine wrath”. I made a comment that seemed to take the side or support of patriarchy and its history of abuse and or neglect of women. And that really wasn’t my intention. But, never the less, my comment was met with “passionate advocacy” for the plight of women. The reaction that I received from my comment provoked deep thoughts within me about what feminism is and what it means to be a feminist. If felt weird being in that position. Afterall, I’m a woman too and I’ve experienced the double standards as well. Women have had a hard way to go and our oppressors, unfortunately, have been our fathers, our brothers and our lovers. But somehow, I don’t feel the same way. I mean, I don’t feel contempt as many feminist seem to feel towards men.

With a bit of research into the feminist movement, its history and various classifications and characteristics, I’ve found that the expression of feminist beliefs and temperament are diverse. Continue reading “WOMAN POWER! MAN’S FALL???”

TRULY CREATIVE PEOPLE OFTEN THREATEN THE VERY SOCIAL ORDER, VALUES, AND WAYS OF THINKING THAT GAVE THEM BIRTH. Hence, if these people do not gain their insights through training in the established social institutions and through sociocultural patterns, where does this creativity come from? We must answer that the intuitive function in man is the prime source of all new insights and imagination. The intellect is conditioned by many factors, but the INTUITION (the portal of inspiration) seems to have relative FREEDOM. ~ Steven Arroyo

Why Balanced Male Female Energy Is Important

Image Source:

This symbolism or concept of complementary opposites continues to present itself to me, making the significance and importance of the male/female energies evident. It is becoming very clear to me that these energies complement each other and depend upon the other for balance and creating a harmony that flows with the energetic flow of the universe. The more that I learn, the more in love I am with this magnificent duo! The fact that the male and female counterparts’ strength lies within their bond is so powerful and amazing, Divine and Godly. Apart, we are powerful, together we become a dynamic force!

In Western Philosophy, the concept of male female connectedness and complementary energy is found in the King James Bible, Genesis 2:21 -25, God takes one of Adams ribs and with it “made he a woman” and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man”. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

In Eastern Philosophy, the concept of pinyin, or yin yang as referred to in western society, literally means dark and light. It describes how polar opposites or contrary forces are interconnected and interdependent, giving rise to each other. Yes, exalting each other! This concepts of the interdependence of polar opposites lies at the origins of classical chinese science and philosophies; guides traditional chinese medicine and is the central principle for various chinese martial arts. I’m sure you’ve noticed and I realize that many of my posts are about relationships. It is because I realize that life is about relationships. We are all having “One Big Relationship” with each other. What you think and do, affects me and I, you. How about that?!

Well, I’ve been working through some thoughts and feelings about dating and it’s path to marriage. While many take a haphazard approach to dating, I believe dating is just as serious as planning your career. It is a part of your “family planning”. Yeah, although some front as if they are just having fun, yet, really and truly, everyone is looking for “that one” to catch their attention and capture their  hearts.  And if…through the process of dating, your goal is to meet your husband or wife,  “dating is a serious matter”. You may not acknowledge this fact, but ultimately you are in search of a “partner for life”. Even the playa-playa and the wanna be, act-like-a-man woman who sleeps around and uses her goods to get what she wants, is looking for love. Face it, love is at the core of our being. It is what we seek from others and it completes us. Unfortunately, we have to sort through the layers of mental and spiritual calluses to get to the soft inner being that is light and love. It’s ok though, because we have all been through something and the calluses protect; they are filters, padding and protection from pain.

Today, the most important question on the subject popped up in my mind, “Can I Submit Unto You”. Men love the concept of “submission”,  women tend to turn their noses up to it. But, I think that any woman who is able to go deeper than her thoughts and misconceptions about submitting, will find that she deeply wants to find someone who she can submit to.  She will want to submit…to the right person, because he will be worthy.
