Finding Your Needle In The Haystack…

imagesCAZJGZUUFinding yourself can be like finding a needle in a haystack. But, the one thing that you have going for you is that you are one-in-a-million. There is no one else like you!

Finding the one needle in the haystack sounds impossible, right? While not impossible, yes it is a challenge. Sorting through all that hay! Buried under distractions of many guises, you are barely recognizable, suffocating. Check your pulse! Unhappy and unfulfilled, you can’t quite put your finger on what is missing. Why the dull, unmotivated feeling? There is a constant feeling of frustration simmering just beneath your surface. Uneasy. Insecure. Powerless. A constant cloud of uncertainty hovers overhead smothering your light and draining your energy. Unfulfilled in your work and relationships because you have gone astray. Life is monotonous and mediocre. Real Talk…This is depression!

Discovering TRUTH

In the beginning was the Word,

and the Word was with(in) God,

And the WORD was God.

John 1:1

Many believe that to study the Word is to simply READ it and believe it.  But the Bible says to “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. ~ 2 Timothy 2:15

Study is the application of the mind to the acquisition of knowledge, as by reading, investigation, or reflection;

Divide is to separate into parts, groups, sections, etc.;

Investigate is synonymous to scrutiny, exploration, examination, inquiry, research expressing the idea of an active effort to find out something;

Reflection  is a calm, lengthy, intent consideration;

2 Timothy 2:15 is an invitation to TEST the doctrine for validity and TRUTH. Dividing it however you need, to gain an understanding. Scrutinize it, Explore it, Examine it, Inquire about it, Research it and Reflect on your findings. One separates in order to examine the nature, the differences in the parts; to simplify, so as to understand the core, the heart; to understand the workings, the meaning and the function.  Continue reading “Discovering TRUTH”

Decisions… Decisions…

It is interesting how life gives you a chance to act on and implement the lessons it has been teaching you. I think it is quite divine, omnipresent, almost like standing on top of your world, as a spectator, as a puppeteer, pulling your own strings. Or like a sculptor, sculpting your life with every thought, touch, every decision. Or like a chess player, strategizing and contemplating the consequence of your next move.  You are the Master and the Subject being observed, molded, created and manifested.  What an awesome position to be in!

Like the spectator, the puppeteer, the sculptor, the chess player, you must exercise quiet contemplation, observation, wisdom and make careful decisions about the situation, which string to pull and when, how and where to place your sculpting hands  and strategic positioning. I’ve often wondered if Freedom had a heart, what it would say. What would it desire? What would it do? I’m speaking of Freedom as Spirit rather than flesh because it is our Spirit that experiences bondage and yearns to be free, not our flesh. It is the Spirit of man that suffers. Without the Spirit, the flesh is dead.

I prefer to imagine that “Freedom” desires spiritual autonomy and independence; the ability and the liberty to freely express self and the will of the Creator without consequence.

  • The power to co-create freely according to the unction of the Spirit
  • The power to manifest according to Its will, which is the will of God
  • The power to love whomever It pleases without shame and doubt
  • The power to “Be” as It feels, as It imagines and dreams
  • To commune where and with whom It needs to for nurturance of Its soul

I imagine Freedom to be able to be a part of this world and be able to travel ANY place in this universe to fulfill Its purpose; gathering information and an understanding of the breadth of life and existence, of God. I, like many of you desire this Freedom of spiritual expression and power. But, I still experience the bondage of the flesh; the bondage of fear. We all struggle with how to overcome this bondage that we see, feel and experience every day that we take a breath through the flesh.  How do we transcend this fearful existence? How can the Spirit have the freedom to work and manifest while in the flesh? Continue reading “FREEDOM’S HEART”

THE SWEET SCIENCE: Stick and Move Strategy to Life

Stick and Move is a term that I use when referring to the judgment and action used in our daily lives to achieve the results that we desire. In boxing terms, it is the decision to stick (to fight) and move (to elude). It is when a boxer jabs or uses long range punches then quickly steps in any direction using elusive footwork to evade the opponent.

Advice from the boxing forum:

“Stick is your jab, imagine your jab is your stick, and you are sticking someone with it. Then you need to move, that is when footwork steps in. You need to move laterally, forwards, backwards and vertically.”    ~Unknown

“Some people even think the move is more important than the stick others think the stick is more important than the move, but the truth is the stick and move should sleep together and are close like brother and sister.”   ~Unknown

“Your movement is your everything, to all the kids who are new to boxing — work on your footwork. Once you got it right, and I don’t mean fancy stuff, just your balance and coordination, everything else is gonna come relatively easy”.  ~Unknown Continue reading “THE SWEET SCIENCE: Stick and Move Strategy to Life”

Going With My Flow

Artist: Monica Stewart

I’m feeling a little stuck. I can’t seem to get a good, heartfelt New Year’s resolution list down on paper. I mean, I’ve jotted some things down, but I’m not feeling it. I’ve already determined that stepping out is the truth of what’s in my heart. So, why am I trying to take the baby steps right now? There is a time to stick and a time to move. Maybe this really is the time to move… Move out on what I’ve been working towards, instead of trying to be routine and monotonous. The strategy and pace will not be the same and will not get the same results each time.  That is why we shouldn’t follow in the footsteps of another, thinking that we will get the same results. We’re not supposed to. That’s why the strategy last year, may not be the strategy for this year.

So, I’ve been thinking a lot about a suggestion made by Darren Hardy of Success Magazine, in an article titled, Achieving Your “One Thing”. Continue reading “Going With My Flow”
