Why She’s Worth More Than Rubies

RubyHave you ever heard of the saying that “The heart of the home is in the kitchen”? Well, my Mother was always the heart of our home. And  now that I am a Mother, I know that the kitchen is just the kitchen. Add a Woman…and now you’ve got a home. It’s the spirit and energy of a Woman that is the heart of the home. The kitchen comes alive with her in it creating love…nurturing. Her heart is at work in every crack and crevice.

Ask any man or family, who has a nurturing wife, mother or sister in their home spreading love in the kitchen and every other place she steps foot or a hand. When she is not there, the food is not the same, the air is not the same…the spirit in the home is not the same.

A Woman has the “Midas Touch”! She has the ability to make everything she touches into gold! Unlike the legend of King Midas, who’s gift of changing things into gold brought about death, a Woman‘s touch brings about life. A Woman‘s touch brings about a wealth that is worth much more than gold.

For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is everyone that retaineth her. ~ Proverbs 3:14-18

A Woman carries within her heart a deep desire to see to it that all is good and right with those that she loves. She steps in where she is needed and she mends, bringing things together, whether that be a meal, a hem or a wound.

I cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. ~ Proverbs 8:21

She is…

An Ornament of Grace~Crown of Glory~Hidden Treasure~Knowledge & Understanding~Happiness~Precious~Trusted~Health to Thy Navel and Marrow To Thy Bones~Riches and Honour~The Tree of Life~The Principal Thing~Promotion~Strength

She has Wisdom. She has knowledge that she filters through her heart center, giving her an understanding of “The Law”, the spiritual commandments of the Creator. So…she is able to be right and do right by those whom she loves. She is an obedient servant to the heart of God. And because she is worthy, God says:

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. ~Proverbs 31:31

She is worthy! She is a blessing! Give her her props! Give her what she deserves! She has the “Midas Touch”. Everything she touches is made good, better than gold!

She was a blessing to even God. Wisdom was with God in the beginning:

The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old…

Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth… Proverbs 8:22-36

If Wisdom was God’s companion and partner in creation, what better companion is there for a Man? She was God’s tool for creating. She was not only “possessed” by God, but she says she was there, by his side, his daily delight. And she rejoiced in his creation, in his work. She helped God give birth to the Universe!

A Wise Woman is equipped by God to be a blessing to all that love her. It is the love that allows God to work through her so that all that she touches is prosperous and life giving. She is virtuous not just because she can cook and clean, make money, make love, bear children. She is virtuous because of her Wisdom. Wisdom is the source of her “Midas Touch”.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. ~ Proverbs 4:7
