Texting…Love Made Simple!

Today I received an unexpected gesture of love, a text. The thoughtfulness and simplicity of delivery was divine. Nothing fancy, just genuine!

I sat there for a moment thinking… I am rarely lost for words or actions when expressing my feelings, my love and appreciation. I’ve always got something creative up my sleeves. However, I was left feeling that there was nothing that I could buy or say that could express my gratitude, that would compare to the consistently genuine acts of love. A listening ear, a shoulder to cry on…you name it…all have been made available to me.

There are times when man is faced only with himself, for no one else can truly understand his tears, his strivings, or the complex motivations behind his decisions. ~ Leo Buscaglia

Sounds a lot like Galatians 5:5, For every man shall bear his own burden. And although we don’t always need someone to “truly understand” us, we always need someone to “truly love” us by accepting and supporting us with genuine acts of love. These genuine acts of love are the “Fruit of the Spirit” as spoken of in Galatians 5:22-23.

Love ~ a caring and seeking for the highest good of another person without motive for personal gain

Joy ~ the feeling of gladness

Peace ~ the quietness of heart and mind

Longsuffering ~ endurance, patience, being slow to anger and despair

Gentleness ~ not wanting to hurt someone or give him or her pain

Goodness ~ zeal for truth and righteousness; acts of kindness

Faith ~ faithfulness, firm unswerving loyalty and adherence to a person to whom one is united by promise, commitment, trustworthiness, and honesty

Meekness ~ restraint coupled with strength and courage; being angry when anger is needed and humbly submissive when submission is needed

Temperance ~ having control or mastery over one’s own desires and passions

Such a rarity, someone who possesses and exemplifies the fullness of the “Fruit of the Spirit” and not be Jesus! What a fruit basket! Sweet and nurturing. A genuine attitude of love is priceless!

How blessed am I? I’m feeling highly favored being YOUR SISTER…MY BROTHER.
